Who can benefit from the promotion?
BYD car owners with a Shell Recharge charge card can benefit from the promotion.
How can I claim the promotion?
From the 1st of June, every Shell Recharge x BYD card owner will automatically be given the discounted Shell Recharge rate. Even if you activated your charge card before the 1st of June.
How do I start a charging session?
Some charge points will have different ways of starting a charging session, please revert to reading the instructions on the charge point. A description will be available on the charge point on how to use the charge cards and start a charging session.
The charge point is not working. What should I do?
Please call the phone number on the charge point, this should get you in contact with the charge point operator.
I lost my charge card. What should I do?
Please go to the app to deactivate the card immediately. Please order a new card via your dealer to keep using your discounted rate on the Shell Recharge DC network. The activation process of your new card will be the same as before.
Is the discount applicable on all charge points?
No, the discount only applies to the rapid and ultra rapid charging stations >50 kW at Shell Recharge locations. You can find these by using the filter in the app.
I have issues with my charge card. What should I do?
Please call the number on the back of the card and our Shell Recharge customer care team will be able to support you.
The charge point doesn’t work and there is no one to help. What should I do?
Please use the Shell Recharge app to find another charge point or call our customer care. We are 24/7 available for technical issues.
What services does Customer Care provide?
The Shell Recharge Customer Care team is 24/7 available for technical issues and can answer your questions in Dutch, German, English, French, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Spanish and Italian.

Shell Recharge customers in the United Kingdom with active accounts can benefit from the promotion.
How can I claim the promotion?
The promotion can be claimed and redeemed via the Shell Recharge app. To activate the promotion, please go to the “Rewards & Partnerships” section of the Shell Recharge app, enter the partnership code to make the offer visible. Once visible, please select the offer and click “Activate now” to enable the promotion with your unique promotion code.

I am having trouble redeeming the offer within the Shell Recharge app – where can I get support?

What is the duration of the promotion?
The charging credit will be valid until the 31st of December 2024, or until you have consumed your £612 charging credit, whichever comes first. You need to activate the code before 30st of September 2024.
Where can I use the discounted charging promotion?
Once the promotion is active, you can use it on all charge points in the Shell Recharge roaming network in the United Kingdom, you can find the available charge points in the Shell Recharge app.
Is this promotion applicable to other countries aside from the United Kingdom?
Unfortunately no, the offer is only valid in the United Kingdom
Where can I see the discount applied?
Once the promotion is activated, the updated price including the discount will be visible on the charge point preview screen and charge point more information screen. The discounted price will also be visible in the summary screen after the charging session, and details will be included in your monthly invoice.

Yes. With the Shell App and charge card, you get access to every charge point (EVSE) in the network. This includes Shell Recharge charge points and charge points from any of the other roaming operators that we partner with.

Shell Recharge locations are supplied with electricity from 100% certified renewable sources*
*Our renewable electricity is certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), which means that all of the electricity Shell purchases to supply our Shell Recharge sites is matched with the equivalent amount of units from 100% renewable sources in the UK.

The power demand of an electric car means it is not like plugging in an iron or putting on the kettle – it is more like plugging in an extra house. That is why Shell is also supporting the transition to electric vehicles by working on a system to help the grid handle the predicted increase in electric vehicles.

EV charging is completely safe, including in the rain. Electricity only flows between the charger and the car once the cables are locked in place.
