Wealth

Salary/Bonus/ Allowances

Shell UK offers competitive base pay with performance bonuses for eligible employees. London-based employees may receive a London Market Allowance of 7.5% of base pay, with a minimum gross amount of £5,100; part-time employees will receive a pro-rata amount.

Competitive defined contribution pension fund

Shell UK employees receive a 20% total pension contribution, based on employee contribution of 5% and an employer contribution of 15%. Employees can choose to make a higher contribution of 7.5%, and where the Company will increase their contribution to 20%. Employee contributions are defaulted to be deducted on a salary sacrifice basis.

Shell UK share ownership plan

Employees at Shell UK can buy shares up to £150 per month from pre-tax pay. Purchasing six shares earns an additional free share.

Financial education programme

Shell UK offers a financial education programme with TrinityBridge, providing employees with support for personal finance, including understanding benefits, investments, budgeting and planning.

Employee discounts

The employee discount portal provides a range of exclusive discounts.

Health

Healthcare plan

Shell UK's healthcare plan with Bupa covers employees' private medical needs in the UK and allows them to add dependants at discounted rates and at their own cost. No medical underwriting is required, and access to a digital GP service is included.

Dental insurance

Shell UK offers self-paid affordable dental insurance for employees and their dependants.

Employee Assistance Programme

Employees have access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme for counseling, support, and information. Discussions can cover a range of topics such as legal, financial, housing, work, relationships, and consumer matters. Face-to-face support is also available.

Gym

Onsite gym in London and offsite gym in Aberdeen.

Subsidised health assessments

Shell offers employees a significantly subsidised health assessment. After completing the assessment, employees receive a private, personalised report designed to help them better understand and proactively manage their overall health.

Time

Annual leave

Thirty days annual leave and the option to buy/sell up to five days of leave (pro rata if part-time or working part of the year).

Maternity leave

Eligible employees can take up to 52 weeks of maternity leave (with up to 26 weeks on full pay).

Partner or adoption leave

Up to 12 weeks of partner leave on full pay to support new parents (who are not taking maternity or adoption leave).

Coaching

Coaching provided for employees who have been absent from work in certain circumstances for more than 12 weeks to support in person development and reintegration upon return to work.

Flexible public holidays

You are able to recognise either the standard UK public holidays or take an alternative day in lieu of something more meaningful for you.

Emergency backup care

Subsidised emergency backup childcare, adult and elder care that can be arranged if your usual care arrangements break down.

Others: Transport & Development

Green Car Scheme: Electric Vehicles

Eligible employees can lease a brand-new electric car, on a tax-efficient basis with maintenance, tyres, breakdown cover, servicing and insurance included through a salary sacrifice arrangement.

Cycle to Work scheme

The ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme is a salary sacrifice arrangement that is designed by the government to encourage individuals to take up cycling and allows eligible employees to hire/purchase a bicycle and safety equipment.

Employee development

Shell companies in the UK invest in employee development for current and future roles within the group, managed under the Training and Further Education Policy. Financial and time support for relevant employee courses is subject to line manager approval.
