Programme Impact

The Shell StartUp Engine programme includes multiple workshops and one-to-one sessions with expert facilitators, weekly coaching, fireside chats with Shell leaders, pitching events with investors and Shell Ventures and Demo Day.
The programme is run virtually, with a number of opportunities to meet and collaborate face-to-face with each other and with Shell’s mentors.

Each startup founder gains unique experiences through Shell’s mentors, including technical peer assists, workshops and research opportunities on Shell’s operational sites. Several alumni are progressing commercial opportunities with Shell and its partners.

Five alumni founders share their feedback on what they most valued:

Sophie Zienkiewicz, Co-founder, Carbon Neutral FuelsThe strides we have made during this programme have helped us on a company level by propelling us into rooms previously unimaginable, and also on a personal level by giving us the confidence to hold our own in these spaces.

Louise Parlons Bentata, Co-founder, BluemethaneWe loved our Lead Mentor so much we’ve asked her to be an Advisor!

Beena Sharma, Co-founder & CEO, CCU InternationalEvery single time I did something on the programme whether it was listening to a fireside chat or doing a workshop I came away with so much value. What’s more, the Shell programme gave us credibility with investors and partners.

Haroon Shaikh, Co-founder, Kerb-eIt’s well worth applying - I think the insight and the feedback that you could get could be genuinely game-changing for your startup.

Ed Lea, Founder, Charge FairyIt helped push the business forward and accelerate in ways I couldn’t have done on my own.
