Shell Recharge
Shell Recharge is our on-forecourt electric car charging service, providing EV drivers charging with 100% certified renewable electricity.*

- In January 2022 we opened our first EV charging hub in Fulham, London that features nine high powered, 175kW charge points.
*Our renewable electricity is certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), which means that all of the electricity Shell purchases to supply our Shell Recharge sites is matched with the equivalent amount of units from 100% renewable sources in the UK.

Developing skills to install and maintain EV chargers across the UK

EV charging qualifications
Installing and maintaining the number of EV chargers required up and down the UK will involve thousands of hours of highly skilled work, requiring electrical engineers.
Working in collaboration with City & Guilds, we have developed an innovative pilot programme that will allow around 36 electro technical apprentices to gain the skills required to install and maintain electrical vehicle chargers. The six-day programme is being offered to fourth year apprentices as a bolt-on to their original college training course. Those who successfully complete the course will be qualified to work on Shell EV Projects.
