How to order your charge card

Step 1: Register for the BYD x Shell Recharge charge card here

Step 2: Download and sign up to the BYD App.

Step 3: In the BYD App, tap the BYD x Shell Recharge promotion and start the process.

Step 4: Follow the link to register your BYD x Shell Account in the Shell App.

Step 5: Order your BYD x Shell charge card.

Shell Recharge x BYD Promotion FAQs

1. Who can benefit from the promotion?

BYD car owners with a BYD x Shell Recharge charge card can benefit from the promotion.

2. What is the validity of the promotion?

The promotional discount is valid for 12 months after registration when charging at Shell Recharge branded rapid-charging charge points in the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and France.

3. Can I use any authentication method to receive a discounted rate?

No. Discounted rates are only applied when you start your charging session using the digital or physical BYD x Shell Recharge charge card or the Shell App. Sessions started with other methods—such as a credit card or QR code at the charge point—will not qualify for the discount.

4. Where can I see the discount applied?

Once the promotion is activated, the discounted price will be visible on your invoice.

5. How and when will I be invoiced?

You will receive an invoice at the end of each charging session. It will be sent to the email address linked to your account and will show the cost of all your charging sessions, including any transaction fees and discounts. The total amount will be charged automatically using the payment details you provided during registration.

6. How long is the delivery time for the physical charge card from the time of ordering?

After requesting the physical charge card in the Shell App, please allow 2 to 5 working days for delivery.

7. Is it possible to order an additional charge card for the same vehicle (e.g. several drivers on one vehicle)?

Customers who own a BYD vehicle are eligible for only one BYD x Shell Recharge charge card.

8. I lost my physical charge card. What should I do?

1. Open the Shell App
2. Go to the ‘More’ menu
3. Tap ‘Shell Recharge Cards’
4. Select the card you want to block
5. Tap ‘Report an issue’
6. Choose ‘Block card’

Once blocked, you can order a replacement card in the same section of the Shell App.

9. I am having trouble redeeming the offer within the Shell App – where can I get support?

Open the Shell App and go to ‘More’, where you’ll find the Help Centre. Here you can browse relevant FAQs and access the Shell Virtual Assistant. If needed, the Virtual Assistant can connect you to a live agent during business hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM, excluding public holidays.
