ABOUT MAKE THE FUTURE
Energy use goes hand-in-hand with economic activity. It enables opportunities for a growing population seeking to improve their quality of life. But society faces a dual challenge: how to make a transition to a low-carbon energy future to manage the risks of climate change, while also extending the benefits of energy to everyone on the planet. This is a challenge that requires changes in the way energy is produced, used and made accessible to more people while drastically cutting emissions.
Shell is already a willing and able player in the energy transition, from supplying the world with natural gas - the cleanest burning hydrocarbon, to investing in renewable energy like solar, wind and advanced biofuels made from waste. We are exploring new ways of storing renewable energy and developing digital products and services that help consumers and businesses use energy more efficiently, day in day out, to lower their carbon footprint.
#MakeTheFuture showcases some of the actions Shell is taking to deliver more and cleaner energy.
