Encouraging science at home
Science can be for the whole family. We have created a number of online activities so you can keep learning and having fun at home. We make sure there is no special kit required and that you can use every day things you find in most homes.

There are a total of 10 simple experiments using things like balloons, marshmallows, tins of beans, fizzy drinks, spaghetti and cabbage. Clear instructions take you through the experiments and there are helpful worksheets which allow you to record you findings.
This booklet has been put together to help support children with curriculum based Scientific enquiry (Sc1) activities. The main focus of Sc1 is to enable children to think through and carry out scientific investigations themselves. In addition parents are encouraged to work closely with their children as they carry out their investigation and if necessary prompt them with questions such as;
- What are we hoping to find out?
- What safety concerns are there (if any)?
- How will you know when the experiment is finished?
A full list of questions are detailed in the booklet.
