Brent Field Decommissioning
Shell is studying many options for the decommissioning of the Brent field.
Over the life of an oil and gas field, facilities need to adapt to changing production requirements. Some facilities become obsolete or uneconomical to sustain. Shell is committed to decommissioning such facilities in accordance with legislation whilst managing safety, societal and environmental and financial aspects.

The Indefatigable Field ceased production in July 2005 and the decommissioning programme runs over a number of years with the total removal of all five platforms.
