Shell in strategic asset swap with Hess
In a move to consolidate its exploration and production portfolio in the North Sea and West Africa, Shell has agreed to acquire Hess Corporation’s entire upstream portfolio in Gabon and its interest in the Clair field, which lies in British waters west of the Shetland Islands. In return, Hess would acquire Shell’s interest in a pair of Norwegian offshore fields, Valhall and Hod. This transaction is a strategic trade and no cash payment is involved.

Shell announces sponsorship of The Big Bang
Shell are lead sponsors of The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists’ and Engineers’ Fair along with AstraZeneca, BAE Systems and Siemens. The Fair, which hosts the finals of the National Science & Engineering Competition, will celebrate young people’s achievements in science and engineering during 2009 and will encourage young people of all ages to do more with science, technology, engineering and maths, (STEM), at school and beyond.

Shell and Waitrose trial Waitrose convenience food at Shell Service Stations
Shell U.K. Oil Products Limited (Shell) and Waitrose have today announced a new product-supply relationship, which will see a selection of Waitrose products sold in three Shell forecourt shops in the UK before Christmas 2009, on a trial basis.

Built in Britain - the vehicles competing to be crowned the world's most fuel efficient
Vehicles designed and built by aspiring young British engineers that can travel hundreds of miles using the equivalent of a Coke can full of fuel are travelling to Germany on May 7th. They will be competing with teams drawn from the four corners of the globe for the title of the world’s most fuel efficient vehicle.
