Young London Business becomes top Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year

A 27 year old and a 28 year old with an instant live music recordings business from Tulse Hill were today named as LondonShell Livewire Young Entrepreneurs of the Year 2006 and took a major step closer to becoming the overall national winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the year award.
James Perkins and Adam Goodyer won the £3,000 first prize at the London final of the 2006 Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which are supported nationally by Shell UK.
The competition, which has been running for 24 years, recognises and rewards the UK’s most outstanding young entrepreneurs with prizes across the UK, including the top prize of £10,000.
James and Adam’s business, Concert Live, provides recordings of live music instantly, so that fans can buy and take home a CD within ten minutes of a concert finishing.
To win, James Perkins and Adam Goodyer outshone other young entrepreneurs from London who have recently started up their own businesses. James Perkins and Adam Goodyer will now represent London at the national finals on the 21st June with the chance of becoming Young Entrepreneurs of the Year and winning £10,000.
Commenting on his success, James said “We’re delighted to be going through to the final – we faced some serious competition from some great entrepreneurs today. We believe that we won because of our innovation in creating a new market and new products. We’re looking forward to the final in June.”
Each finalist’s business plan was scrutinised by an expert panel of judges from the centre and south of England.
Congratulating James Perkins and Adam Goodyer on their win, Duncan Robbie, Shell Livewire’s Executive Director said, “The judges were very impressed by James and Adam and their business has fantastic potential to grow and succeed. Their enthusiasm and drive makes them real Livewires!”
