After an incredibly successful first year, The Bright Ideas Challenge will launch for a second year in October 2016. The Challenge is designed to spark young people’s curiosity in science, engineering and the world around them. It supports cross-curricular learning and encompasses a series of activities that can be completed in 2.5-5 hours.

As well as helping you link classroom content to the world around us, your students could win one of 11 regional cash prizes to super-size science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) teaching at their school. One school will be named national champion and take home a total of £5,000!

Plan ahead to get involved before the Challenge closes at Easter 2017.

To support your teams, we’ll provide:

  • A student workbook
  • Videos to guide your students and spark ideas
  • Curriculum-linked teaching notes and PowerPoint slides

The Bright Ideas Challenge is perfect for:

  • A class challenge
  • A dropped timetable day
  • A Science Week project
  • Science and Technology Club activities
